London, EN
Located in the heart of London, Enoteca Rosso offers a traditional design with touches of modernism and a relaxed atmosphere.
The area of Kensington High Street is well known for being one of the most popular shopping streets in western London, serving for the wealthiest. Being located on the border of Holland Park, Rosso targets to bring the culture of Italian spirit wine tasting experience for London greatest customers.
Building and construction
As Enoteca Rosso is occupying the premises of one of the first Lloyds Banks branches in London, the design had to be adapted into the existing configuration of the building. What makes Enoteca Rosso different is the antique mosaic, which was discovered during the demolition of the existing flooring. BALF’s team managed to restore and adapt it alongside with resin flooring.
The designers and workers aimed to maintain the traditional appearance of the building, whilst integrating aspects of an Italian winery.
The tables have been manufactured from the reclaimed timbers of high-quality olive wood, leading to an unusual build.
The highlight of the design are the terracotta wine racks throughout the restaurant, that have been made bespoke to fit exactly 2 bottles of wine. The restaurant can accommodate up to 100 guests, featuring a private-room, a bar and the main dining hall.
