Notting Hill, London EN
The house is located in Notting Hill, one of the trendiest districts in London, located in the central-west area of the capital, in the administrative district of Kensington and Chelsea.
Notting Hill is an expression of the magical ability that the urban neighborhoods of London have, to transform themselves: from slums to ultra-millionaire neighborhoods, in half a century.
This residence , overlooking Chepstow road , is the classic expression of the Victorian house built in the "average districts", inhabited by poor and middle-class families of low level , with the classic configuration of a terraced house with neighboring walls, though maintaining the semblance of a stately home with the classic steps at the entrance, the decorated windows and a piece of land in the back of the house.
Building and construction
Before the building renovation, the residence was on four levels above the basement and it appeared in an overall bad state of maintenance.
The repair works have been carried out in order to restore all those elements characteristic of the Victorian house (stairs, window frames, windows, floors) and, at one time, transforming spaces adapting them to the new configuration of a single-family mansion.
It was also made an additional level in the place of the attic and the basement has been reconfigured with a large window overlooking the small garden at the rear.
